Patrick Flynn Appointed to HPCANYS Board

The Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) has appointed Patrick Flynn to its Board of Directors. “HPCANYS is pleased to welcome Patrick to our Board of Trustees. His many years of service as the President of the Hospice Foundation of Western New York gives him unique experience that we believe will be a major contribution to both our board and our organization as a whole. We are also pleased to continue to have representation from the western part of New York State where hospice and palliative care has been so richly provided over the years,” said HPCANYS Interim President & CEO, Kent Brooks.

Flynn is currently the President of the Hospice Foundation of Western New York. Flynn joined Hospice Buffalo’s organization in 1990 as the Associate Director of Development. In 1995, he was appointed Vice President of Development and in 2011, President. Flynn is a graduate of Buffalo State College and pursued his graduate studies at Canisius College. A few of his responsibilities as President include overseeing the activities of the Hospice Foundation and The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care’s (CHPC) Marketing and Public Relations Department, serving on CHPC's strategic Leadership Team, and assuming primary responsibility of Hospice Buffalo’s fundraising activities.
Flynn is heavily involved in the community. His volunteer work includes chairing the finance committee of the Planned Giving Consortium’s Leave a Legacy Program, serving as a Board of Trustees member of the now defunct Gilda’s Club of WNY, and serving as member of the Beechwood/Blocher Foundation’s Development Committee, to name a few.

He is a past recipient of Western New York’s Fund Raiser of the Year from the WNY Chapter of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP), and has professional memberships in AFP, the Planned Giving Consortium of WNY; The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy; The National Council of Hospice & Palliative Care Professionals and The National Hospice Work Group.
“I am very excited and honored to join the board of directors of the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State. I look forward to joining with other hospice and health care leaders to educate, promote, and advocate for increased access to and growth of hospice and palliative care services across New York State.” ~ Patrick Flynn

The Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State is a not-for-profit organization representing hospice and palliative care programs, allied organizations and individuals that are interested in the development and growth of quality, comprehensive end-of-life services. Founded in 1978 as the New York State Hospice Association, HPCANYS changed its name to Hospice and Palliative Care Association of NYS in 2000 to better reflect its mission of promoting the availability and accessibility of quality hospice and palliative care for all persons in New York State confronted with life-limiting illness. The Association is headquartered in Albany, New York and serves members statewide.
