Hospice Buffalo Receives 2017 Hospice Honors Elite

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE— May 17, 2017

Cheektowaga, NY — Deyta Analytics, a division of HEALTHCAREfirst, recently announced the recipients of their 5th Annual Hospice Honors, a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. The official list of recipients was recently unveiled at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Management and Leadership Conference in Washington, DC.

Hospice Buffalo was named a Hospice Honors Elite organization, the highest recognition awarded. Out of 1600 participating hospices, only 75 hospices were given Hospice Honors Elite designations and 296 were awarded Hospice Honors designations. The award is based on performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures taken from the CMS Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey.

Hospice Buffalo’s Quality Director, Mary Pruski RN BSN, credits keeping all of our caregivers informed of the satisfaction survey feedback, generously provided by our patient’s caregivers: “Each group of care providers, including nurses, social workers, counselors, chaplains, home health aides, volunteers, physicians and nurse practitioners, massage, art and music therapists, and all our office staff, plays an important role in assuring all patient and family needs are met. Every member of Hospice Buffalo’s staff places the highest emphasis on listening, anticipating, educating and training our families 24/7. It’s because of that focused vigilance on customizing and responding to each patient’s need that Hospice Buffalo is now rated so highly by the community we serve.”

Deyta Analytics provides services to hospices; helping them to manage the CAHPS surveys and providing insight into making quality and process improvement. The Hospice Honors program is Deyta Analytics’ way of acknowledging hospices that are being proactive with their survey results by leveraging their data to improve the patient and caregiver experience, and are demonstrating quality to patients and referral partners.
