FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Grief and the Holidays” Community Support Programs
CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - The holidays are typically full of the love and warmth of family and friends, and shared traditions and rituals full of celebration, comfort, laughter and joy. But for those who are grieving or have a seriously ill loved one, the holidays can magnify feelings of loss and elicit sadness, distress, anxiety, uncertainty and fear.
The Wilson Support Center’s (WSC) annual 2-part “Grief and the Holidays” series provides opportunity for reflection and guidance to help you cope with the extra demands of the holiday season. It may seem impossible to imagine maneuvering through the festivity and ritual of the season amidst an overwhelming sense of loss, knowing that the holidays will not be as they once were. How do we remember and honor our loved one at the holidays when we struggle to cope with our grief? There is no right or wrong, nor any template from which you should mold your grief or your holiday.
Hospice Buffalo Grief and Spiritual Care Counselors will offer support and guidance to assist you during this time.
