Programs You Can Support
Unrestricted Patient Care
Quality patient care is always Hospice Buffalo’s top priority. We will use your gift to support direct patient care and a variety of innovative programs and services that enhance the quality of life of our patients.
Hospice Angel Fund
Hospice cares for patients and families that have slipped through the social safety net in our community and who are without basic necessities. The Hospice Angel Fund was created to directly address the needs of our less fortunate patients and families. Donating to this fund will provide support for families in need and will include funding for food, clothing, supplies, utilities and other basic needs. In addition, the Angel Fund seeks to enhance our patients’ quality of life by supporting programs like the Birthday Brigade, Music & Memory and Lifetime Stories, and allows for special extras that help ease the end of life journey.
The Giggle Fund was created by the late Neil Rudin and his wife, Cheryl, to bring joy into the lives of children in the Hospice Buffalo Essential Care Program. Making a donation to the Hospice Giggle Fund will brighten the days of Hospice's pediatric patients by covering the costs of celebratory events, entertainment and other activities that will bring them laughter and joy.
Capital Improvements Fund
Regular maintenance and improvements to the Hospice Mitchell Campus, other Hospice properties and equipment are important in sustaining the valuable service provided to our patients during their difficult journey. Please support Hospice in this important cause by making a donation today.
Contributing to this fund provides for the beautification of the Mitchell Campus. The Green Fund keeps our campus blooming and beautiful. The majestic surroundings bring comfort and peace to our patients and their families.
Hospice is a Medicare benefit, however many of our patients do not qualify for this benefit and are either uninsured or under insured. Our team makes every effort to qualify them for Medicaid reimbursement, but many times they pass away before the paperwork has been qualified and the family is left with unmanageable bills. Donating to the Hospice indigent care fund helps to offset expenses for families in financial need.
Our credentialed Music, Art and Massage therapists play an integral role in enhancing the quality of life for adults and families in Hospice Buffalo, as well as for children in the Essential Care program. Various therapeutic interventions are offered to provide a creative outlet for self-expression, help patients and families manage pain and other symptoms, decrease loneliness and isolation, encourage movement and active engagement, and facilitate reminiscence of pleasant memories. Support some of the most beautiful moments in Hospice care by donating to Hospice Expressive Therapies.
Essential Care for Children
Essential Care for Children is a home-based palliative (symptom control) care program that provides coordination of medical care, and psychosocial and spiritual support to children from infancy through adolescence who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, as well as their family. Our program works closely with Oishei Children's Hospital and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Your donation will make a big difference in a child's quality of life.
Research and Education
Hospice Buffalo has a dedicated Research Team that is committed to conducting research that translates into tangible quality-of-life improvements for patients and their families. Their projects range from person-centered to programmatic studies. We take pride in staying at the forefront of education related to the end of life journey for all employees and medical staff. Donate to Hospice research and education — your support will help Hospice Buffalo remain innovative.
