Essential Care for Children...
Be a Part of Our “Village”
Fourteen-month-old James Parisi is sweet. He’s happy. He’s charming. At 5 months old, James was diagnosed with a rare form of congenital muscular dystrophy, LAMA2 – one of 250 registered cases worldwide. However, his family does not let his disease define him.
What began as an overwhelming journey for James’ parents, Anthony and Molly, quickly became a journey of hope and relief after the first visit from the Essential Care team of compassionate and supportive professionals. Whether it is the social worker proactively researching organizations that help cover medical bills and helping with paperwork, the music therapist playing the guitar as he plays along with his musical instruments, or the massage therapist helping build muscle tone to make his arms stronger, the Essential Care team (physicians, pediatric registered nurses, social workers, spiritual and bereavement counselors as well as music, massage, and art therapists) address James’ needs as well as questions and concerns from the family.
“It takes a village” – family, friends, and the Essential Care team work together to give all Essential Care children the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Take the opportunity to be a part of our “village” that gives hope and confidence to each child and family by making a spring gift today.
Thank you in advance for your support!
“Disassociate from whatever perceptions you have about Hospice. Understand that it is just an expansion of support and services that are all centered on improving the quality of life for your child or loved one and that it’s not scary.”
