Fall Appeal 2018
“We’re not about death and dying. We’re about life and living.”
~Charlotte N. Shedd, RN
As we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Hospice Buffalo, let me take a moment to say thank you to the WNY community. Your support of the Hospice mission and incredible generosity has made this possible. Since its founding in 1978 by
Dr. Donald and Charlotte Shedd, RN, Hospice has provided care to more than 85,000 patients and their families. Today, The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care (CHPC) currently cares for nearly 1,000 patients a day throughout Western New York.
Patients and families describe Hospice Buffalo as a “community treasure”, but what makes Hospice Buffalo different? It is the care patients suffering with long-term or life-limiting illnesses and their families receive through the utilization of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, therapists, chaplains, grief counselors, and trained volunteers.
Every experience is personal, every person is unique, and every family is different. That’s the amazing part of what Hospice can provide people with. It’s not a uniform response. It’s a highly personalized response. In honor of Hospice Buffalo’s 40th Anniversary, join me in making a gift before December 31, and let’s achieve many more milestones together.
Thank you in advance for your support.
