Hospice Bereavement Program
Caring and support from Hospice Buffalo continues long after the death of your loved one. We provide up to 13 months of bereavement services. Counseling is provided by licensed mental health professionals at no cost to you, your family or close friends. It is often important to hospice patients to know the people they love most will be cared for in the emotional time just after their death. Providing this support is part of any hospice plan of care, although Hospice Buffalo receives no reimbursement for these important services. For more information about the services we offer, please visit the Hospice Buffalo Bereavement Support page.
Hospice Buffalo goes above and beyond the minimum required to support our patients and families. Insurance does not cover the full cost of the programs we offer. Your generosity is important so that we can continue to provide a full range of services. Please consider a gift this spring to support Hospice Buffalo.
“I have always been a proud person and never thought I needed anyone’s help. This was the first time I’d ever experienced the loss of someone so close to me. I reached out to the Hospice Bereavement Team and I’m so thankful I did.”
– Debra Murphy, daughter of Sara Jane Allen, passed in Hospice May 6, 2015 with Linda Bonczyk, LMHC Bereavement Manager and Grief Counselor.
