Our Generous Donors
At Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, our donors are not just supporters; they are integral parts of our family, woven into the fabric of our organization’s mission.
Terry Granger
Consider the story of Terry Granger, who has become a familiar presence in the heart of our campus, with his support of the West Herr Comfort Café. Terry’s commitment to honoring his loved ones through legacy gifts and his presence as a volunteer, embodies the spirit of compassion and dedication that defines our organization. Legacy is so meaningful to Terry that he has made gifts to designate the lounge outside of the Bistro, the Francine E. Modica Lounge, in honor of his beloved wife, along with naming a wing in the Hospice Inpatient Unit (HIU) the Madeline “Molly” G. Granger wing, after his departed mother.
Ed Carney
A dedicated supporter and volunteer since 2009, Ed Carney has been involved with Hospice ever since his beloved first wife Marilyn passed away from cancer after seven months under hospice care. Before he retired, Ed says that he loved his job and that there was never a day he did not want to go in, and now he says he feels the same way about his time volunteering at Hospice. Could this be because while at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in 2016 he met the wonderful Leona?
Leona Stasko
Leona Stasko is a Buffalo native who moved away for 30 years before coming back to be with family. Leona’s mother passed away while in hospice care. She started volunteering at a Hospice in Indiana, and upon moving back to Buffalo, joined her sister and brother-in-law who are fellow volunteers. She has given her time by volunteering at the nurses’ station in the HIU. Together with partner Ed, they enjoy helping at the Hospice Memorial Walk event, selling ornaments, and recently began making bows for the trees for the annual holiday Light-A-Life ceremony. She and Ed show their passion for Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo as engaged and valued members of the ever-growing volunteer family.
