The Mary & Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Hospice Inpatient Unit

Our 22-bed Hospice Inpatient Unit on the Mitchell Campus in Cheektowaga, NY, provides a relaxing and unique home-like atmosphere for patients and families receiving hospice care. The extraordinary inpatient medical staff provides short-term care for hospice patients. Our excellent staff/patient ratio means our patients are given the best care possible by our skilled team of hospice and palliative care doctors. The unit is available for patients whose pain or symptoms cannot be managed at home and for patients approaching the end of their illness. Hospice patients can also be admitted to the unit for short-term respite care to give the patient’s caregivers a short break.

Our inpatient hospice unit features spacious private rooms, lounge areas, large family kitchen, and a non-denominational chapel, as well as an outdoor courtyard, patio with barbecue grill, and beautiful wooded grounds with memorial walkway.

Dinner to Remember

This program provides Hospice patients with a delicious meal to share with their loved ones. Moreover, it gives patients' families and friends the opportunity to spend time together and create a lasting memory to cherish. Once a month, a different community restaurant generously hosts this dining experience at the Hospice Mitchell Campus. Volunteers and staff transform the Campus into a restaurant, complete with flowers and live music. The true impact to the patients and families is immeasurable.
