Our 22 bed Hospice Inpatient Unit provides a relaxing and unique home-like atmosphere for patients and families. The unique facility provides short-term care for Hospice patients. The Unit is available for patients whose pain or symptoms cannot be managed at home, or to care for a patient approaching the end-stage of their illness who does not wish to remain at home. Hospice patients can also be admitted to the unit for short-term respite care.

The Unit features spacious private rooms, lounge areas, large family kitchen, outdoor courtyard and children's playground, as well as a patio with barbeque grill, beautiful wooded grounds with memorial walkway, and a non-denominational chapel.

The main entrance to the building is open from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.  After this time, please phone ahead to (716) 686-8068 or 8067 to alert the staff that you will be making a visit. One visitor may stay overnight in the patient's private room. Please, NO smoking allowed in the Unit, or on the campus grounds.

• Short term acute care
• Pain and/or symptom management
• Final stage of life care
• Medical care provided by Hospice Physician
• Family conference with medical staff to follow admission
• 5 day respite care
• Relaxation tapes
• Whirlpool bath if appropriate

Before Admission to Inpatient Unit:

• Patient must have signed DNR ( Do Not Resusitate) order
• Patient is in the Hospice program
