The Founders Society was created in 2004 to recognize outstanding leadership in annual giving that benefits the patients and families served by The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. With a gift of $5,000, $10,000 or more annually you will be recognized for your truly outstanding generosity and support of the hospice mission in Erie County.
The Founders Society honors Dame Cicely Saunders, a remarkable person whose dedication and commitment to the dying changed the face of health care throughout the world. Dame Saunders was the original pioneer of the modern hospice movement who dedicated her entire life to improving end-of-life care, along with revolutionizing the way in which society cares for the ill, the dying and the bereaved. The Founders Society also honors Hospice Buffalo's founder, Charlotte Shedd, who shared a personal relationship with Dame Cicely.
