The Mary and Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Counseling Center  is the new home for Life Transitions Center, Western New York's premier grief counseling center, and Essential Care for Children, the pediatric home care program of Hospice Buffalo.

 

The Counseling Center offers supportive counseling and bereavement service for children, adults and families who have been affected by serious illness and loss.  Hospice Buffalo's bereavement services is also provided in the new center.

 

The 9,200 square foot one-story building is located at 150 Bennett Road in Cheektowaga. It includes a beautiful therapeutic garden for relaxation and children's activities.

 

The Hospice Foundation Trustee Mary Wilson, and her husband Raph Wilson, Jr., owner of the Buffalo Bills, made a lead gift of $ 500,000 to help fund the $ 2.2 million building project.

 

The Hospice Foundation gratefully extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Wilsons, M & T Bank, the James H. Cummings Foundation,  the Fatta Foundation, David and Susan Zebro, First Niagara Bank, D-B Trust, Harriet and Lewis McCauley, George and Elizabeth Smith Foundation, Ruth Kahn Stovroff, Mary Whitcomb, Buford and Suzy Sears, Louis and Mary Louise Ciminelli and Melvin and Karen Bernhard for their generous donations to build this new Center for our community's children.
