Chuck and Nancy Dowdell to be Honored
Generous benefactors Chuck and Nancy Dowdell of Clarence, NY will be honored with Hospice Buffalo's HOPE, CARE & DIGNITY AWARD during Hospice's Annual Reception this Tuesday, Dec. 8, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Chuck Dowdell, co-founder of Amherst Systems, Inc., a technology company that grew to more than 300 employees and $40 million in annual sales, joined the Hospice Board of Trustees in 2001. He continues to serve on the Hospice Foundation Board of Trustees.
Nancy Dowdell served as a school psychologist influencing hundreds of young lives in the Cheektowaga Central School District. The Dowdells have been longtime supporters of Hospice Buffalo and spearheaded the Hospice Foundation's Founders Society in 2004, celebrating donors who make annual leadership gifts of $5,000 or greater. To this day, they continue this important volunteer leadership role.
The Dowdells are generous benefactors of many non-profit organizations in Buffalo, including the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Hauptman Woodward Institute. The couple has three children and continue as active community volunteers with Hospice.
