Nov. 13, 2006 Cheektowaga, NY - "Where there's Hope there's life" annual appeal is officially underway. The Hospice Foundation has named Peter and Lisa Walsh of Orchard Park as co-chairs for the Hospice Foundation's 2006 Annual Appeal. The Walsh's also serve as co-chairs of the 2006-2007 Signature Society, a dedicated volunteer fundraising group of the Hospice Foundation.

"What most people dealing with a life-threatening illness hope for is really quite simple," stated Mr. Walsh. "To be home, with family and friends. To be comfortable and free of pain. To secure support for their loved ones. Your gift to Hospice helps to give them that hope."

"Hospice Buffalo, Home Care Buffalo, Life Transitions Center and the children in the Essential Care Program all benefit from the unrestricted dollars raised through this year's annual appeal," explained Lisa Walsh. "This is because Hospice, the recognized leader in excellence in end-of-life care for more than a quarter of a century, has generous and loyal donor support, and we are so grateful for this continuing support."

Gifts can be made by mail to the Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Boulevard, Cheektowaga, NY, 14227, or on-line at the Foundation's secure website at www.hospicebuffalo.com. Information provided by the donor is considered confidential and will not be sold. Funds raised directly benefit patient care and services in Erie County and surrounding communities.

"Each and every gift will make it possible for us to meet the ever-increasing demands for quality care that all patients deserve at life's end," added Mrs. Walsh. "Again this year, donors who contribute 0 or more in cumulative, unrestricted annual support will be recognized by the Hospice Foundation as ‘Friends of Hospice.' It is our hope that this year many people will find us worthy of their continuing financial support through a gift to the 2006 Annual Appeal. We're asking folks to please respond generously by Dec. 31, 2006."
