Help for Grief during the Holidays
The holidays are traditionally a time of family, laughter and joy. But for people who are grieving, or for those with a seriously ill loved one, the holidays can be a time of mixed emotions. As the holiday season approaches, there are some things that can help individuals and families cope with the extra demands of the season. Life Transitions Center and Hospice Buffalo will offer two "Grief and the Holidays" programs, free of charge, to the community.
On Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6:00 p.m., James Grande, LCSW-R, a grief therapist with Life Transitions Center, will offer practical tips and information to assist those coping with grief or serious illness. On Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 1:00 p.m., Bob Fink, M. Div., director of Pastoral Care, Hospice Buffalo, Inc., will be the guest speaker. Both programs will be held at the Hospice Education Center, 225 Como Park Boulevard, Cheektowaga. Participants will receive a special holiday remembrance candle.
To register for either or both programs, please call Life Transitions Center at (716) 836-6460 or email info@palliativecare.org.
The Life Transitions Center and Hospice Buffalo, Inc. are affiliates of The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, nationally-recognized for excellence in palliative (comfort-oriented) and hospice care by the American Hospital Association's prestigious Circle of Life Award®, 2011.
